Ah Sah Lan Wa Sah Lan Ramadhan Al Kareem...Selamat datang Ramadhan Yang Mulia

Assalamualikum wbrt to all

Ahsahlanwasahlan Ya Ramdhan Al Kareem 1430H..May this Ramadhan increase our iman and amal.

<em>Al-Baqarah verse 183: "O ye who believe! Fasting is precribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint"

Ramadhan is considered as a training of self-restraint for us, not only from drinking and eating but our nafs as well...ehem..especially dealing with human behaviour. May be that's why we are encouraged to 'ikhtikaf' especially the last ten days of Ramadhan.. The challenges are ..the last days are the time for Eid's preparation and balik kampung syndrome. Can I change it? Not sure yet but Insya Allah I'll try...

Other notes

Sugar shortage might affect our Eid celebration. You think so?.. Well..may I suggest instead of indulging in sweet sweet things aka cookies and alike..we might just eat rempeyek, kerepek ubi(plain), tumpi, bananna chips..and others which devoid of sugar. Well if you still have sweet tooth just use brown sugar..I think it is healthier and organic.

I want to relate an accident that I experienced last weekend while eating out lunch with my friends. The restaurant we frequented was full...anyway it was just an ordinary restaurant in Shah Alam.. nothing fancy. After 15 minutes, we managed to get seats.."Kak nak minum apa?" The waiter asked..I said "Tea O Limau ais". Others said " Air barli, teh O "..After some pause the waiter said " semua yang O dan guna gula tak de" "Kenapa" we asked.."gula habis" the Achehnes guy said.."Hanya boleh order yang bersusu"..well It did not go very well with our soups..At the end all of us ordered 'teh ais' and diluted with a glass of plain water..so sweet wei.

I read in Yahoo..the sugar shortage worldwide was due to droughts in India and Mexico. The two countries are main exporters of sugar.Droughts mean less produce. Many dietians would advice against taking sugar and regard it as unneccassry....Change our eating habit? Can we do away with sugar in our food intake..?

Salam Ramadhan Al kareem again
Puziah
